Today, Deputy Secretary Don Graves met with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan to discuss U.S. economic engagement in Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific region. Deputy Secretary Graves underscored the Commerce Department’s commitment to promoting a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Southeast Asia and thanked Singapore for its continued support and leadership in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF), including the recent announcement of the substantial conclusion of the negotiations for an IPEF Supply Chain Agreement. He also discussed plans to advance the U.S.-Singapore Partnership for Growth and Innovation through cooperation in digital economy, clean energy, and supply chain resilience, as well as opportunities for expanded cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
