BANGKOK – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara as part of her official travel to Thailand to strengthen diplomatic and commercial ties between the United States and Thailand. During the meeting, Secretary Raimondo recognized the strong, historic partnership between the two countries and Thailand’s important role in the Indo-Pacific region. Secretary Raimondo also recognized Thailand’s critical contributions to the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF). The Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister discussed progress made and next steps for IPEF in order to continue delivering tangible benefits for partners’ workers, businesses, and economies. Later, members of the President’s Export Council (PEC) met with the Deputy Prime Minister for a discussion on opportunities where the United States can help to strengthen commercial engagement and facilitate increased trade and investment between the United States and Thailand.
